Pursuing plural perspectives on a plethora of problems
Using conceptual thinking, systems thinking, first-principle thinking, second-level thinking and more...
Welcome to Conceptual Chronicles. By formation and experience I am an electronic engineer, strategy consultant, master in business and experienced executive in sectors including consumer goods, retail and e-commerce, financial industry and payments. By interest, I am an analytical thinker, avid reader, experimental gamer and hobbyist programmer. Oh, and most importantly, I am an almost 40-year-old father of two from Brazil.
I believe that improving our judgment, decisions and habits is one of the most worthwhile and rewarding pursuits in which we can engage. I enjoy analyzing hard problems using distinct perspectives and mental models such as conceptual thinking, systems thinking, computational thinking, thinking in first-principles, thinking in bets, second-level thinking, bayesian rationality and more. I plan to do so on a variety of topics on this newsletter, and will probably fall short many times - that is where I invite you, dear reader, to engage and discuss so that, together, we can think and judge better.
Some topics I plan to discuss include, but not limited to:
Business and Corporate Strategy
Business Models e.g. in retail and other sectors
Statistics and Probabilities
Pricing Optimization
Supply & Demand and Money
Economic and Ownership Models
Science and Religion
Digital Culture, Transparency and Censorship
The Fermi Paradox

In the meantime, tell your friends! You can also find me on LinkedIn, Medium and my personal website.
PS: don’t worry, I won’t use alliterations in every title. That’s a one-shot :-)
